The DVHS Music Dept. is having a Yankee Candle Fundraiser.

Sale ends 10/20/14. Checks should be made payable to DVHS Music Dept.

All paper orders must be handed in to your student’s director no later than 10/20/14.

Online orders ship directly to customers.

Here’s what you need to know about the latest stuff going on:

– The Yankee Candle online sale continues until mid-January. See the Yankee Candle Fundraiser Reminder post for details.

– Music Wear sales continue. T-Shirts and Cinch Bags are just $10 each. Download the order form and send it in to your Director.

– The next Market Day orders are due to the school by Friday, 1/17/14. Online orders can be placed up until 11 pm CST on Tuesday, 1/21/14. Visit Market Day and enter 28968 for our school code. Pickup will be at the DVMS Cafe on Monday, 1/27/14 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. January orders receive a free 2014 Eat Well Calendar and GoGo SqueeZ Applesauce Pouch with any purchase. If you’re raising money for the Disney Trip, make sure you let Diane know your musicians name when you pick up your order so we can give you the proper credit.

– Start clipping those Tyson Chicken Labels as we now collect them for the Tyson A Plus program. Drop boxes will be located in the DVMS, DDMS, and 11/12 DVHS offices. You can also put them in an envelope addressed to the DV Music Dept. Booster Club and give it to your teacher or either David Lukan or Hannah Carlson if you’re in DVHS.

– Mark your calendars for our first ever Vendor and Craft Fair on Saturday, March 1, 2014. We need parent and student volunteers for the event and there will be musical performances throughout the day so start planning your ensembles. Sign-up sheets for the ensembles are located in each classroom. The application will be posted next.

– Our next Parent Meeting will be Thursday, 1/23/14 at 5:30 PM in the DVHS 11/12 Cafe. Please plan on attending. Also, each ensemble President is requested to join us to help spread the word to their fellow musicians.

– Don’t forget to shop at Amazon.com!

Upcoming Concerts:

1. DVMS – 12/3/13 at 7pm
– Will be selling only merchandise

2. DVHS Band – 12/8/13 at 3pm
– Bake Sale
– Merchandise sale
– Candy sale
– Mr. Rauh would like the band students at the school by 2pm and Jazz students by 1:45pm

3. DDMS Band and Orchestra Concert – 12/12/13 at 7pm
– Bake sale
– Merchandise sale
– All middle school sales go towards the proposed Disney trip. Portion to the operating fund of the Booster Club

4. DVHS Chorus/Orchestra Concert 12/17/13/ at 3pm
– Bake sale
– Merchandise sale
– Candy Sale

5. DDMS Chorus – 12/17/13 at 7pm

6. Benefit concert 3/8/14

7. All bake sale items should be individually wrapped.

8. Each event will have a sign in log for volunteers and donations.

General Information / Updates:

1. We are now linked to the DVHS webpage – go to departments, then music and there is a link to our webpage.

Disney Trip:

1. If no trip occurs, money will be put into other funds.

2. Chaperones usually pay 3/4 of the price.

3. Should know by the end of this school year if there will be a trip or not.

Fundraising Activities:

1. Yankee candle on line sales until mid Jan. 2014

2. DV Foundation citrus sale ends 11/21/13

3. Radio City trip
– 15 seats left
– $80/person
– proceeds go toward the Disney trip
– Date: Dec. 2. Leave school at 7:30 AM

4. Poinsettia sale ends 11/26

5. Vendor Fair
– Funds for the scholarship program
– Date: March 1, 2014
– Site: Middle school cafeteria
– Plan: sell tables for a set price. Request donations from vendors to be used for a silent auction on the day of the benefit concert
– Requesting small ensembles play throughout the day.
– No duplicate vendors
– Booster club will sell food items

6. Tyson A plus
– Similar to box tops
– Need a parent from each school to collect and bring to booster club meetings
– Need respective school principal approval

7. Cartridges for kids
– Will need a site for drop off
– Need principal approval

8. Market Day
– Monthly fund raiser

9. Scholarship donation brochures are being copied by the DV Foundation and should be ready soon for distribution.
